why does the enzyme trypsin get deactivated when introduced inthe gastric juice of the stomach

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Trypsin is a serine protease, it uses a catalytic triad composed of histidine, serine and aspartic acid. In the stomach the pH drops enough so that the functional groups of the amino acids in the triad are always protonated and will not be able to catalyze reactions.
