@satellite73
OpenStudy (texaschic101):
solving for U ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
OpenStudy (texaschic101):
13 = 7 + U/3 --- subtract 7 from both sides
13 - 7 = U/3
5 = U/3 -- multiply both sides by 3
15 = U
check..
13 = 7 + 15/3
13 = 7 + 5
13 = 13 (correct)
U = 15
any questions ?

@texaschic101 it says that it is wrong.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@texaschic101 it says simpify it as much as possible.
OpenStudy (texaschic101):
wait...I messed up
13 = 7 + U/3 -- subtract 7
13 - 7 = U/3
6 = U/3 -- multiply by 3
18 = U
check..
13 = 7 + 18/3
13 = 7 + 6
13 = 13 (correct)
sorry about that...messed up over a simple arithmetic error.
U = 18

okay thanks!

yep...whatcha got
OpenStudy (anonymous):
6+5V=-14
Solve For V.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@texaschic101
OpenStudy (texaschic101):
6 + 5V = -14 -- subtract 6 from both sides
5V = -14 - 6
5V = -20 -- divide both sides by 5
V = - 4
check..
6 + 5(-4) = -14
6 - 20 = -14
-14 = -14 (correct)
V = -4
