ok first step. find area of room
OpenStudy (anonymous):
length times width

600
OpenStudy (anonymous):
good :) now multiply 600 by 0.06 because 0.06 = 6%
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what do you get?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
36

good now you set it up like this
36 (or your area of the triangle) = bh/2 because it's a triangle
OpenStudy (triciaal):
area of 30*20*6% = area to be taken
area of triangle = 1/2 base times height = (1/2)(3x +6)(2x + 3)
now set them equal and solve for x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
you are given the base (2x+3) and the height (3x+6) in your problem. multiply those together and if i was you to make it easier on myself i would just multiply 36 by 2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so you have 36(2) = (2x+3)(3x+6)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
now all you need to do is solve for x
