Given the equations 9x+34y=6 and 2x+12y=9, by what factor would you multiply the second equation to eliminate y and solve the system through linear combinations? A) −4/3 B) −3/4 C) −3/2 D) −7/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply the second equation by -34/12 to eliminate y and solve system through linear combinations, it seems none of the options are right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 34 is a fraction and so is the 12 so its like 1/2 and 3/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

34/12 = 17/6 .... i can't see how multiplying by 1/2 or 3/4 will help to eliminate y
