The incomes are indeed small xD You are asked to find the average income, average of lets say numbers 45, 46, 48, and 50 is (45+46+47+50)÷4 (average= add all numbers up, and divide the sum by the NUMBER-OF-NUMBERS) in this case there are 4 numbers, and the sum is equal to 188. Divide this sum by 4, 188÷4 and you get 47. Thus the average of the numbers (45, 46, 47 and 50) is equal to ` 47 ` (the average doesn't have to be one of the numbers, it just came out to be 47 from adding and dividing by 4)

You have 3 different periods/ears and you want to find the average salary. You have 3 numbers, so add them all and divide the sum by 3.
