OpenStudy (moka414):

Find the slope of the line. Can someone help me please...

OpenStudy (moka414):

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

http://www.purplemath.com/modules/slope.htm

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

should know this already I'd think look at the graph, there are two points, so use those :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is A. You rise 1 unit, and "run" 7 units. So the slope is 1/7

OpenStudy (moka414):

I did @jdoe0001 It came out 7/0

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf \begin{array}{lllll} &x_1&y_1&x_2&y_2\\ &({\color{red}{ -2}}\quad ,&{\color{blue}{ 2}})\quad &({\color{red}{ 5}}\quad ,&{\color{blue}{ 3}}) \end{array} \\\quad \\ slope = {\color{green}{ m}}= \cfrac{rise}{run} \implies \cfrac{{\color{blue}{ 3}}-{\color{blue}{ 2}}}{{\color{red}{ 5}}-{\color{red}{ (-2)}}}\implies \cfrac{3-2}{5+2}\implies \cfrac{1}{7}\)

OpenStudy (moka414):

so I did it wrong

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

the point on the 2nd quadrant is (-2, 2) no (-2, 3) and you did the run/rise , should be the rise/run
