ho does sickle cell work

Well its like normally the blood cells are round ish with a dip (like a doughnut but the whole is not really there) yea so basically what happened is the blood cells don't get oxygen so they become like crescent shaped and it not getting oxygen to areas. My mentors husband has sickle cell and he goes into crisis. Which is where he basically has serious pain and when you go to the hospital they do things to get your cells are back round and plump again. You ca n die from sickle cell.
