Okay... so for day one, it says "chapters 1 and 2 and section 4.12" why cant I find 4.12 in the book? does he mean chapter 4? I'm so confused.

Section 12 of chapter 4. Many of these technical texts basically follow an outline format, but instead of roman numerals and characters they just extend the numbers: 4.12, 4.12.1, 4.12.2....etc.
