Find all excluded values for the expression. That is, find all values of for which the expression is undefined. 5x / 4x+12 If there is more than one value, separate them with commas.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Mind explaining in your own words what "excluded" means to you? "excluded values?" Does it appear to you that \[\frac{ 5x }{ 4x+12 }\] has any "excluded values?" If so, what is that value? Why is it "excluded?" Hint: division by zero is NOT defined.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can think of it like this: Dividing by 0 is not defined. 4x + 12 = 0 If you solve for x, you know that it may not be a value because the sum of the terms will equal 0.
