what is the advantage of being able to recognize special products of binomials? what are two special products?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Welcome to OpenStudy, Loop! Recognize\[(a-b)(a-b)? \]The resulting product is \[a^2-b^2.\] If you later on encounter something like\[ (3x+2)(3x-2)=(3x)^2-(2)^2=??\], and recognize that it has the same format as does \[(a-b)(a-b),\]...then you can immediately go ahead and write the product. How? Think of 3x as being your 'a' and of 2 as your 'b'. All you have to do now is to square '3x" and '2' separately and subtract the square of '2' from the square of '3x', and then you're done. Please finish this.
