If line FE = 14 would Line BC = 28? Figure in comments. (anyone know how to add it in post?
Is there like a formatting guide for this site? I'm still a newbie. >.<
@jim_thompson5910 Know how to do this one?
Notice the tick marks on the left side of the triangle They imply that AF = FG = GB
So AB = AF + FG + GB AB = AF + AF + AF AB = 3*AF
The triangles are similar, which means their sides form this proportion AF/AB = FE/BC
Hmm. I don't get how that helps me solve it though :/
Now you plug in AB = 3*AF into the equation to get AF/AB = FE/BC AF/(3*AF) = FE/BC
Ohhhhh. would it be 42 then?
The AF terms will divide and cancel 1/3 = FE/BC and then you cross multiply to get 1*BC = 3*FE BC = 3*FE
yep BC = 42
YES! You're really helpful. Thanks so much <3 :)
you're welcome
@jim_thompson5910 What about this one? :P
If UV = 29 & WZ = 40, What does XY equal?
Also if Line XW is equal to Line YZ and m∠Z = 72 degrees what is m∠x?
If UV = 29 & WZ = 40, What does XY equal?
use the midsegment theorem (XY + WZ)/2 = UV (XY + 40)/2 = 29 solve for XY
No idea what that is.. How do you remember all this stuff?! o.O
do you know how to solve (XY + 40)/2 = 29 ?
Noooo! I'm lost >.<
