attenuation n rejection differences
Attenuation and rejection are two different unwanted effects on signals. Systems are designed to minimize the effect of these two phenomena. In communication, if not properly addressed, attenuation and distortion have the capability to make a data transfer unsuccessful.
i believe attenuation is a phenomena which produces loss in the signal amplitude(i.e voltage) e.g a infrared signal used in remote control is highly attenuated as attenuation is directly proportional to frequency and so therefore the remote that we use in television, the signal do not effect out of room. so simply u can say attenuation is just resistance to electromagnetic wave. WHERE AS rejection is term used in filtering where we can reject a particular frequency or a particular bandwidth. sry for a long explanation couldn't answer in a shorter way... but coorect it if wrng
Rejection : AM(amplitude modulation)/FM(frequency modulation) radio in which by tuning station to particular favorite station eg station X,indeed you are rejecting all other station. example. Available stations station 1- 600kHz to 610KHz implies BW(band width) of 10KHz station 2- 610kHz to 620KHz implies BW(band width) of 10KHz station 3- 620kHz to 630KHz implies BW(band width) of 10KHz if choosen filter(tuner) is at 610kHz to 620KHz then you will listen to station 2 (Provided the filter has BW of 10KHz) 1.think what happens if the choosen frequency is 615kHz to 625KHz? 2.think what happens if the choosen frequency is 800kHz to 810KHz?
