Why is the frequency of X–linked disorders greater in males compared to females? The X chromosome in a male is more likely to carry a dominant disorder. The Y chromosome does not carry genes to counter a defective gene on an X chromosome. The Y chromosome is only useful in the determination of sex. @BioEpic
