Alaine has 1 gallon of paint. She is going to pour it into a paint tray that measures 10 inches wide, 12 inches long, and 5 cm deep. (1 gallon = 231 in3, 1 inch = 2.54 cm)

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

5 cm = 1.968503937 inches So paint tray volume = 10 • 12 • 1.968503937 = 236.2204724409 in³ 1 Gallon = 231.000013181 in³ So it seems the paint tray has "about" 5.2204592599 in³ of room left over (the paint will NOT overflow)
