Where in the cell was the ATP produced?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Mitochondria is the cell organelle where ATP is produced.

@miss.foltz17 @Abhisar It is also done in the chloroplasts of cells.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

True, if we talk about photosynthesis !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Abhisar Figure I would mention it because cell type is not specified in the question.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

But it's only in the case of plant cells, Respiration occurs in every cell, so mitochondria will be more appropriate.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Since no cell type is mentioned

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Abhisar The way the question is worded seems to indicate that the person asking does know the cell type from a previous question.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Yes, but he has not mentioned it....So let him figure out the correct answer, we have given him the possibilities :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Abhisar Sorry, cannot resist, but respiration does not occur in every cell. We have both assumed that we are looking at Eukaryotes. @miss.foltz17 What cell are we talking about here?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

yes obviously !

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Other wise it would be Mesosomes !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Abhisar I find it a bit annoying when people ask a question and then just disappear. I want to make sure they understand it before they leave, and sometimes, they get the wrong answer.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

@mrdoldum yep, but i think she is gone a while before, but hopefully she will check when she comes back
