I am a sicence Geek but im really confused and i have a question. can some one help me so I can understand it better? Coal is a fossil fuel which is used to produce electricity. Which of these statements best describes an outcome of coal mining on the region around the mines? It gets abundant electricity. It becomes rich in minerals. Its groundwater is contaminated. Its rivers and streams become dry. this is not for a test my sister asked me this
Hey I can help you
oh my gosh thank you SOO much honestly i think its it becomes rich in minerals im not 100% sure though.
Well, no. Actually it loses minerals because the coal is being TAKEN. So lets start out small. normally the effects of mining for anything, is bad. That would give us C and D. It can't actually be B because the amount of electricity is equally shared everywhere, and just because they mine it, it doesn't mean they make electricity right there. So which do you think? C or D?
@emmigrace222 C and D are the best answer, but I would point out that this is not always the outcome. It is very typical, but there are some responsible coal mines.
i think its C honestly you to where a BIG help but @Gabebro13 im giving you a metal and fanning both of you
Thanks man. I would go with C, too.
ok :)
