To answer the question clearly, it is a process where a few people vote. We each take a look at every applicant and base out choices off of how well we feel people match out idea of a good Ambassador. Then we talk about any split decisions and unsures, take care of making sure everyone is properly identified, and finalize the choices. So if it takes us a little bit, please don't be worried. It is just a process that takes some time.

People we choose based on this system of evaluation will be notified and people we pass over this time will have a chance to reapply later. We take in small groups each time. This is partially because training a large group takes me too much time and that is one other reason not everyone is selected. Other people have not been on OS long enough to be evaluated (we had one that was a user for a few days!) And some, well, have had lots of recent problems and would not make a good choice. But everyone can get themselves back on the list next time and we will take a new look at how they have done in the last several months and the process of selecting starts yet again! Wheeee...

I know they have worked with people on acceptable forms of identification. They have certain legalities to deal with as a company, so they want to confirm the identity of people taking on roles that are greater than just being a user.

It was not clearly defined. They were giving us a notice to put in any last comments or objections before they do. So soon will depend on if any of us have seen new issues.

It will be months before we do another cohort. Hopefully we will announce that one better. How you become one is simple. Follow the rules. Use the site for intended educational purposes. And make people feel welcome.... which does not mean send a generic message to every new user. The postings to new users need to be specific, tailored at least some to each person so they get some help. Then, whenever there is a new cycle of application it will be easy to get into that cohort.

Because we have an actual training program that uses interaction, we don't take them in 1s and 2s any more.

When we do another round, there will be announcements and links again. It will be a few months. Each cycle makes a single cohort that can go throught the initial training at the same time.

Well, there has been a selection... and there are some ID issues with a chunk of applicants that were accepted. This has resulted in a delay in the announcement about who was accepted.
