The content of this post certainly would interest at least a few OpenStudy users. Technically, it's not a question, but rather an advertisement for MIT and MIT's perceptions of the value of mathematics. My question for you, @goformit, is "Why post this here?" Seeing that OpenStudy has no area set aside for interesting information such as this, you might want to suggest such a section to OpenStudy's administrators. Use the OpenStudy feedback section for that.

Make the world better? Gee I hope so. There is always an evil genius who would try to destroy the world. I'm still holding the the fact that the more we know, the more dangerous we become. Look at the development of the atomic bomb in WW2. Did that really make the world safer? I don't know. Just my informal option ^^
