Simplify the quantity x plus 6 over 12, all over the quantity x minus 8 over 10.

((x+6)/12)/((x-8)/10) = (x+6)/12 * 10/(x-8)
giving (10x + 60)/(12x - 96)
factorising gives (10(x + 6))/(12(x - 8))
dividing both sides by two gives (5(x + 6))/(6(x-8)
And that's as far as I get
