hero (hero):

@lilstacy please post your actual math question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what THE question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How can one fifthx − 2 = one thirdx + 8 be set up as a system of equations?

hero (hero):

y = (1/5)x - 2 y = (1/3)x + 8 Is this what you are referring to as a system?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but i have those 5y − 5x = −10 3y − 3x = 24 5y − 5x = −10 3y + 3x = 24 5y + x = −10 3y + x = 24 5y − x = −10 3y − x = 24

hero (hero):

Multiply both sides of y = (1/5)x - 2 by 5 Multiply both sides of y = (1/3)x + 8 by 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea what he said nd inbox me lilystacy
