check my answer

The picture below shows a container that Tim uses to freeze water: What is the minimum number of identical containers that Tim would need to make 2000 cm3 of ice? (Use π = 3.14.) 5 7 22 20 <--- i originally got 19.90445.... but i rounded

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get that ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 20 or 19.90445...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

19.90445

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok well i used the volume formula so it was v = pir^2h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are correct it is 19090445 but you do round it to 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

19.90445

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the diameter is 4 and i know radius is half of a diameter so i did v = 3.14 x 2^2 x 8 i did 3.14 as pi because they said so and 8 is the height giving then i got 100.48 and devided that by 2000 so 2000/100.48 = 19.90445...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and i rounded the 19.90445.. to 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the volume of 1 container V=πr2h in the diagram the radius is 2cm as the diagram shows a diamter height = 8 cm calculate the volume V=π×22×8 which equals the 19.90445 then u round

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get radius as 22?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

typo 2^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i did the same thing as you then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah so ur right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are right. Round it to 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you said this "V=π×22×8 which equals the 19.90445 then u round" but pi x r^2 x 8 doesn't equal 19.90445 it equals 100.48

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks i got more if you can help me?
