(2/x - 2) + (7/x^2 - 4) = (5/x)

Okay, the LCD is x(x - 2)(x + 2). I'll multiply everything by that to get rid of the denominators.

OpenStudy (phi):

I would multiply both sides (and all terms) by x(x-2)(x+2)

OpenStudy (phi):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's okay. I'm working that out now. Hold on a second.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since the denominators all cancel out, I believe I get 2x^2 + 4x + 7x = 5x^2 - 20...I'll write it with the denominators

OpenStudy (phi):

now collect like terms
