so $68 is say 100% how much is 100%-38% ? well... the new price will be 100-38 = 62% so 62% of the original price, well. what's that? well \(\large \begin{array}{ccllll} amount&\% \\\hline\\ 68&100\\ x&62 \end{array}\implies \cfrac{68}{x}=\cfrac{100}{62}\)
