How did the invasions of Japan by Mongols from Korea (1274—1281) affect Japan? The idea of a warrior caste and warrior code entered Japanese culture. Japan became more dependent on China to fight off the Mongol attacks. In response to the Mongol threats, Japanese lords achieved greater unity. To meet the danger, Japanese lords gave military training to peasants.
