First of all, when you dilate (enlarge) or shrink (can't remember the more technical name) a figure, no line segment will EVER pass through the center of translation.

Second, when you dilate/shrink a figure, you basically multiply each of the segments by the factor |dw:1404283929331:dw| Because 4.5 \(\times\) 1.5 = 6.75
