A 6.0kg box slides a 20m distance on ice. If the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.25, what is the work done by the friction force?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

work done = force . displacement = (coeff of friction * normal) * 20 = .25 * 6 * 9.8 * 20 =294 J

OpenStudy (anonymous):

provided the sliding is on a plane suface with elevation angle 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually its -294 J
