Solve the logarithmic equation. Be sure to reject any value that is not in the domain of the original logarithmic expressions. Give the exact answer. ln (x - 8) - ln (x + 7) = ln (x - 10) - ln (x + 8)

@Garadon_Shagan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

write both sides as a single log first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then forget about the log and equate the inputs

Thank you @satellite73

if that is not clear, let me know yw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

log x - log y = log x/y Which means ln ((x-8)/(x+7)) = ln (x - 10)/(x+8) Now you need to search for values of x where the fractions are equal because then the logs will be equal
