that question belongs in the physics section, where I think that the most basic particles can actually spontaneously jump into existence. but as gabebro13 stated, spontaneous generation in a biological context is impossible.

Spontaneous generation cannot occur. It is a theory that life can arise quickly and directly from nonliving matter. This theory was discredited in the 19th century when microbes were shown to exist and reproduce.
