Why was the foreign policy of Harding and also Coolidge called isolationist? Answer Because the U.S. felt that it did not need any other country's help. Because the other countries were too far away for the U.S. to become involved in business with them. Because the U.S. had its own problems. Because they both believed the U.S. should stay out of the business of other countries. Because Americans did not want to share diseases.
