Which of the following shows the factors of 2y2 - 2y - 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well we can make the problem easier by factoring out the 2, so you have \[2y^2-2y-4 =~ 2(y^2-y-2)\] Now can you find two numbers whose product is -2 and sum is -1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok umm im not really good at this :x which sucks but um i have these choices (2y - 4)(y - 1) (2y - 4)(y + 1) (2y - 2)(y - 2) (2y - 2)(y + 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I don't care for the choices, the whole point is for you to understand the process.
