Which of the following themes is present in both the tales of Calypso and the Lotus Eaters? A. The negative consequences of trusting gods and goddesses cannot be changed. B. Although places may look beautiful, they are often dangerous. C. Distractions can lead people off course and prevent them from reaching their goals. D. It is unwise to be so curious about exploring strange new lands.
@glittergirl9454 C. would be the answer because, Calypso is one of the few goddesses who is actually kind to humans, but she makes Odysseus spend a really long time away from his journey home. Also, the Lotus eaters gave the crew of Odysseus the lotus plant, making them high and unable to continue their journey. The answer would probably not be D, because there was no intentional exploration done during these stories. The crew only stopped for supplies and/or help.
