In a hospital operating theatre, the anaestethic gas used to make the patient unconscious is explosive. Suggest what steps could be taken to avoid an explosion caused by a spark from static electricity. [two marks] I would appreciate any help :D
@Abhisar @BioEpic
From Dr.Walter lecture you can conclude that u increase humidity. and also get off your shoes (as Dr.Walter did :D) so charges won't build on . http://www.school-for-champions.com/science/static_shocks_reducing.htm#.U7VXJs5NovA
that is called ground yourself
@Catch.me Thank you so much for your response! So, number one would be: 1. Increase Humidity What about number two? It says there are two marks, so I think that there are two reasons? :)
you didn't open the link ?? it has more. number 2 get off your shoes
I did-> But, I didn't think that would work, because hospitals don't have carpet? and it said only when you rub the sole of your shoe against a rug- or something of the sort?
@amistre64 could you help?
ground the handle of the door, so it won't shock. get your rings and nickles off. Outlet covers (plugs of electricity) make sure it is isolated. Replace missing or broken wall plates. Avoid friction with anything. You can use breathing tubes and make this room out of oxygen, so you won't be aware of static electricity.
@Catch.me Ohhh,, okay :O Thanks a bunch!! I really appreciate it :O
np you are welcome :D
