can anyone explain AM,GM and HM inequaltiy

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

I am having problem how to apply AM,GM and HM inequaltiy

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

can u give some questions and their solutions so I can understand

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

@satellite73 pls help

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

@ikram002p nd @satellite73 can u pls explain

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

ok do u have a spesific Qn ?

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

ohh is u wanna examples :) ok ill see

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

yes I have!!!

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

giving another question will make my concepts clear

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

if \[x^{2}y^3=6 (x,y>0) \] then the least value of \[3x+4y\]

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

do u have any suggestions or I should start from more basic problems

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i think i have seen a gimmick for this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

start by writing \[3x=\frac{3x}{2}+\frac{3x}{2}\]and similarly \[4y=\frac{4y}{3}+\frac{4y}{3}+\frac{4y}{3}\]

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

ok but y to match it with the no of terms and power

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the arithmetic mean is \[\frac{3x+4y}{5}\] and it is larger than the geometric mean

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which is two

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just a gimmick and frankly if i had not seen this before there is probably no way i would have come up with it on the fly or at all!

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

ok (can u suggest any book or site where can I find these kind of problems)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no not really just google is all

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

ok @satellite73 but y have u left pls continue the problem

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

@ikram002p can u help
