while studying evolution a student comes across a cladogram that includes clades like amphibia, reptilia, aves, and mammalia. what must be the basal clade? A.plantae B.chordata C.nonchordata

OpenStudy (larseighner):

While having no idea what a clade or a cladogram I can answer this easily. The whatever includes mammalia. Could mammals be classed under plants? No. Could mammals be classed under organisms without spinal cords? No. So the answer must be chordata. As a check, all the other subgroups are chordata too.

it was correct thank you
