OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

for the first one i picked all real numbers except -4 and 6 and it was wrong for the second one i picked all real numbers and it was wrong

OpenStudy (aum):

The numerator has a square root. Square root is not defined for negative numbers (at least not for real values) and so x + 1 has to be greater than or equal to 0. Additionally, x cannot be -4 or 6. Combine all the conditions.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

so the first question would be A?

OpenStudy (aum):

x + 1 >= 0 or x >= -1 x cannot be -4. If the above condition is satisfied x will not be -4 and so this condition is already part of the previous condition and therefore can be ignored. x cannot be 6. So x x >= -1 and x cannot be 6.

OpenStudy (aum):

Yes, A.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Ok, I dont need help on the second one anymore but could you help me on a different one?

OpenStudy (aum):

Sure.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Do you want me to open a new question or is here fine?

OpenStudy (aum):

If it is just one more it is fine to do it here.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

I think this one is B http://prntscr.com/3z315w

OpenStudy (aum):

Yes.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (aum):

You are welcome.
