The first active volcano observed outside the Earth was discovered in 1979 on Io, one of the moons of Jupiter. The volcano was observed to be ejecting material to a height of about 1.83 ✕ 105 m. Given that the acceleration of gravity on this moon is 1.66 m/s2 find the initial velocity of the ejected material.

\[V^2=V_o^2-2g\Delta H\] \[0=V_o^2-2*1.83\times10^5*1.66\] \[\boxed{V_o\approx779.5~m/s}\]
