Medal for help :) Which order pair is a solution of the equation y=3x? A. (-2-9) B.(-8-18) C.(-8-3) d.(-10-30) ** My answer :)

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

Ok. So first, we should take A and substitute it into the equation, which would be -9 = 3(-2). Simplify that and the answer is -9 = -6. Therefore, that cannot be the answer. Then, we should go for B and substitute into the equation, which would be -18= 3(-8). Simplify that and the answer is -18 = -24. Therefore that cannot be the answer.

OpenStudy (rock_mit182):

i guess you're right

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

Now C. -3 = 3(-8). Simplify that and the asnswer is -3 = -24. So that iis wrong too. Now the last one, D. -30 = 3(-10). Simplify that and the answer is -30 = -30. Therefore that is the answer
