the thing with his 'common sense' was that it got the common people to see the problems that they had with the british and how they were going overboard with their control over the colonies pretty much it got people to start thinking about the revolution
Yep, it even was read to all the soldiers surrounding the British Army at Boston. George Washington made sure of that. The thing was that Paine didn't write like some high and mighty educated man, he wrote on a level that EVERYONE would understand. Whether it was being read aloud at a tavern, or being read by the fire of a rich mans house, he made sure everyone would be able to understand it.
