@Cosmichaotic I have 2 more :)
Ok look at the values of x, are they increasing or decreasing, then y. Remember as negative #'s seem to "look" like their getting smaller -5, -4, -3.... they are actually getting... what?
So x is getting smaller (decreasing) by 1, while y is... doing what?
You got this girl.
x is decreasing, y is increasing
=0)
By 1's
oh .... I thought we were looking for a function ; oops !
Oh, it does represent a function absolutely, can you tell me what it would look like? Remember f(x) denotes a function and is = to y
And can you tell me if the function is linear, quadratic, or cubic?
=0P
oh no, but I think there's a typo... I don't see x decreasing, y increasing as an option...
Look at option B. As x decreases by one, y increases by one. Right?
no , it says x increases !
Ahhhh, yes.
A. As x decreases by 1, y decreases by 1. B. As x increases by 1, y increases by 1.
Tricky. Look at option D =0)
x = 5, multiply by -1 -> 5(-1)=-5, then subtract 1, -5-1 = -6
x=4 -> 4(-1) = -4, -4-1 = -5
Every time we multiply x by -1, then subtract 1 we get the y! Sorry I didn't see that before...
Exactly; great save!
