A house was originally worth $95,000 but increased in value to $110,000 after 5 years. What is the ratio of the amount by which the house's value was increased to the house's original value 5 years earlier?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

A ratio is a comparison by division. If the house was worth $95,000, and now it's worth $110,000, how much did the value increase? (This part is a subtraction problem.) Then divide the increase by the original value of the house 5 years ago. That's the ratio.
