viruses are considered in which phylum ?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Hello @sammychahal !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi @Abhisar

OpenStudy (abhisar):

In the five kingdom classification there is no mention of acellular organisms like virus, viroids, prions etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

conclusion ?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

According to ICTV, these are separately kept in another Kingdom.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Actually kingdom term will not be that appropriate.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Viruses did not find a place in classification since they they are not truly living. However there is a methodology to group themselves in different order---family---subfamily---genus----species.
