2 towns A, B are connected by a regular bus service with a bus leaving in either direction every T min. A man cycling with speed of 20km/hr in the direction A to B notices that the bus goes past him every 18 min in the direction of his motion, and every 6 min in the opposite direction. what is the period T and with what speed (assumed constant) do buses ply on the road? the 2 equations formed in the answer are: (v-20)18/60 = v*T ........(1) (v+20)6/60 =v*T ..........(2) [where v= velocity of each bus] how to deduce the 2 equations?

Make them equal each other and solve for v as it has the same distance

What do you mean ??
