Why it is important to breath in fresh air explain it?
you need \(\sf O_2\) in order to carry out aerobic cellular respiration because oxygen functions as the last electron acceptor in the electron transport chain. Without it you "clog up" the pathway and your cells switches to anaerobic respiration (and reduce pyruvate to lactic acid) to regenerate \(\sf NAD^+\) and be able to continue with glycolysis.

ya aaronq is right my friend
well pretend youve locked little timmy your cat in your car with the windows up. little timmy is going to pretty soon drink up all that fresh air and start expelling co2 and then he will colapse and if disalowed fresh o2 little timmy will cark it
not the best analogy but i hope it worked :)
