Paratheses will determine if you translating directly onto x, or if you are translating y. (X+4) translates the x x+ 4 translates the y
That's just an example. It is saying 18 units Up. This means y. So there would be no parentheses. y = 3/7x + 18
Based on your explanation, we can eliminate c, therefore it's d!
If it said 18 units Left, this is (x +18) If it said 18 units Right, this is (x - 18) If it said 18 units Up, this is x+18 If it said 18 units Down, this is x - 18
Remember when it is in parentheses you move the opposite direction. So (x-18) seems to look like we move left 18, but instead we move right.
