Ok you guess!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You got this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

between c & d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's with the parentheses?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Paratheses will determine if you translating directly onto x, or if you are translating y. (X+4) translates the x x+ 4 translates the y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's just an example. It is saying 18 units Up. This means y. So there would be no parentheses. y = 3/7x + 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Based on your explanation, we can eliminate c, therefore it's d!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it said 18 units Left, this is (x +18) If it said 18 units Right, this is (x - 18) If it said 18 units Up, this is x+18 If it said 18 units Down, this is x - 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember when it is in parentheses you move the opposite direction. So (x-18) seems to look like we move left 18, but instead we move right.

Thank you for this great, to the point, explanation, I have been able to apply it to several several problems! :DD

-If I could re-medal you I would, haha!
