well.. the way I see it is
the only way PQ can be congruent to BC is if they both are EXACT in length

as opposed to "similar"

jdoe is correct. Perhaps you meant to say PQ is parallel to BC. That would mean that the small triangle APQ is similar the the large triangle BAC.

You can then use proportions to solve for x.
