What is the simplest way to permanently get rid of an unwanted file? A. Go to the Start menu and then delete the file. B. Send it to the recycle bin then empty the recycle bin. C. Cancel the file. D. Erase the file and save an empty file over the original.

I'd agree with that, but there's no real way to delete files permanently unless you wipe the hardrive and a few other things. Canceling the file would mean to get rid of it before it's even a file. Deleting it will send it to the recycling bin. Saving over the file will do nothing but change what was in the file.
