A board is 12 feet long. If the board is divided into 12 equal sections, how long is each section?

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

That is easy. Each section would be 1 foot long.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

Your welcome.

Some people may not find questions like this easy. You're supposed to work with them so they know how to do questions like these on their own afterword.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh its fine it should have been easy i was just too lazy to read the question

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

You are right there, @secretx_x, but I really don't know how to explain this.

OpenStudy (secretx_x):

You would do \[12\div12\]

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

Oh, okay, now I get it. It seems like once you know something, it is hard to explain something that is easy. That is what happens to many smart people. Many college students would have a very hard time teaching their little brother to read. Real intelligence is when you are able to understand the hard subjects, and at the same time be patient enough to teach the easy subjects.
