Check my work on special products involving binomials and polynomials?

Find the product of (x + 5)^2 x2 - 10x + 25 x2 - 25 x2 + 25 x2 + 10x + 25

I chose D

@IMStuck @Broskishelleh

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

how did u get D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am pretty sure because it comes out to x^2+5x after distributing the x and 5x+25 after distributing the 5, so then we combine like terms (5x+5x) and we have x^2+10x+25

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Perfect ! nice job :)

Thanks! Are there any special cases in which that type of reasoning wouldn't work?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

it works always

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you may also memorize this binomial identity : \[\large (a+b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2\]

Okay! Thanks a ton!!!
