the number of triangles formed in a decagon when all the diagonals from one vertex are drawn is?? isnt it 8??

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

a decagon has 10 sides (think decade = 10 years) so there are 10 vertices From a particular vertex, you can draw 10-3 = 7 diagonals. We subtract 3 because we are excluding this particular vertex itself and its two adjacent neighboring vertices. The other 7 vertices can be connected to in order to get a diagonal.
