OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Equation of tangent to a curve?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

\(x=1+4t-t^2\), \(y=2-t^3\) with the given value of \(t=1\)

hartnn (hartnn):

find dy/dt then dx/dt divide those and you get dy/dx

hartnn (hartnn):

then you need a point put t=1, find x and y that will be your point

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Would I need to simplify the derivative or could I just use it as it is?

hartnn (hartnn):

to find the slope, right ? no need to simplify, you will anyways plug the points in it!

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Alright, thanks hartnn :)

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^
